Doctoral programme “Public Health” of Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) is the third level of higher education, which ensures the training of a new generation of researchers and their integration into the modern, global scientific-research environment. The development of the doctoral programme is founded on the belief that Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy will gather a new generation of researchers. These researchers will not only contribute to advancing the specific scientific fields related to their research but also initiate and develop studies that address pressing societal challenges. This approach is a practical implementation of the concept “research with and for society”. TMA realizes that participation of personnel with research competence from the different institutions is of utmost importance in order to carry out actual and innovative research in the field of biomedicine, medicine, health and public health. To achieve this goal, we consider it appropriate to involve foreign researchers in the implementation of the doctoral programme in "Public Health." These researchers may contribute as course instructors, research supervisors, mentors, or in other relevant roles. This circumstance is important for ensuring the quality of doctoral students' research activity and promoting their integration in the international scientific-research environment. From this perspective, it is important to highlight the academic strategy of TMA. The institution and its faculty collaborate on joint research projects with universities and scientific research institutions from various countries. Additionally, TMA’s affiliated academic personnel hold administrative positions in national institutions known for their scientific research expertise. This objective facilitates the uniting of human resources in one space, partnership with Georgian universities and scientific-research institutions, as well as provides access to the necessary research infrastructure. |
